Coffee shop

What does a barista at a coffee shop do exactly?
Is the job hard? What is it like working at a coffee shop anyway? I never have and I have an interview for it soon. I’m kind of nervous because I really am no EXPERT at making coffee.
The job can start out hard since you have many drinks to memorize, but it gets easier with time.
When you first walk in, it always smells like coffee and sweets so you feel happy and energetic.
Behind the counter duties include wiping down counter-tops periodically, preparing hot and cold beverage items like Lattes and Frappes/Frappucinos, stocking everything from refrigerators to retail merchandise, baking pastries such as cinnamon rolls and muffins, brewing different varieties of coffee, filling the ice bin when it runs low, taking inventory on items (only when you order items from the company), handling the cash register and keeping your customer happy.
Cafe area work includes wiping down tables and chairs and keeping the floor clean by sweeping and spot-mopping (mopping in areas that are extremely filthy).
Grunt work includes doing dishes, taking out the trash, putting up boxes of new items when your new shipment order comes in and wiping down doors and windows.
If you make a mistake such as accidentally short-changing a customer or making the wrong drink order, don’t worry about it. It’s bound to happen to everyone. Just apologize and try again.
Remember also to NEVER BAD-MOUTH A CUSTOMER. The customer is always right (even though they’re not sometimes ; your employer will explain that one).
No job is easy at first. But keep at it and once you get used to the rhythm of things and how they work, you’ll do fine.
