COMMERCIAL COFFEE MACHINES
Where do I get a commercial Starbucks coffee machine?

I just got back from my bank where they have a self serve, Starbucks branded coffee machine that allows you to select 1.) Size of cup (Gallon, Carafe, Tall, Small) 2.) Type of Coffee (regular, etc.) and then you hit the start button and it grinds and brews a cup of coffee for you that tastes EXACTLY like the drip brew coffee at a real Starbucks. I am looking into what the name of this machine is, and where I can get one.

Thanks!

I’m not sure what the machine looked like, so without add’l info, I couldn’t find precisely what you’re seeking. However, it appears many Starbucks-branded commercial machines for sale to the public are actually Saeco brand machines. Here’s a page with numerous commercial machines, including Saeco..

Hope this helps! :)

COFFEE GRIND
Can a coffee grinder be used to make both coffee grind and espresso grind?

Hi, I just got a coffee grinder and I was wondering if it can be used to make the grind for both espresso’s and coffee. I’m a coffee addict and drink about 1 litre of coffee a day…lol
Also, is it true that it’s cheaper to grind your own beans than buy the grind? Just wondering…
Thanks to all who answer! :-)

Yes & no: Espresso is a very fine grind and some (esp. cheap) grinders can’t make it fine & even enough for proper espresso. Now, if you make your espresso in a stove-top moka pot, then you use a coarser grind & pretty much any grinder will do.

If it’s a high quality grinder, it will be fine for any coffee drink.

As to cost; it’s cheaper to roast your own than buy pre-roasted coffee. Pre-ground coffee doesn’t really cost much more, but it does go stale very quickly after grinding, so grinding your own will def taste better. If you buy roasted coffee, buy it in the valve sealed bags and put it in an air-tight container after opening to keep it fresh longer. Canned & jarred coffee is either stale @ time of packaging or goes bad from CO2 pressure as the beans give off gas for several days after roasting & pressure build-up is bad for them (hence the valve sealed bags).

Coffee importers
GH fans, was today the best you’ve seen of Sonny?

To see the writers tear down this once strong character floored me today! To see him have to turn his back on Morgan was awful! I’m so disappointed in Jason that now I’m rather glad he doesn’t get a chance with his son! All the loyality and friendship is gone. Who will Sonny have in his life now–or will he just slowly be written out? A coffee importer? Our Sonny? It’s humiliating!!

I know! I can’t believe it’s come this. Sonny is suppossed to be the ultimate macho man. The tough guy. The ladies man. The guy who always comes out on top at the end, no matter how hard or pointless a fight looks. I can’t believe what’s been done to him. Now he’s going to what? Be at Sonnybucks all day? Perhaps go back to Kate, and learn about fashion? No kids? No family? No friends? No mob job to keep him tied to the canvas? I wonder if he’s getting ready to leave the show. I miss my Sonny. I don’t want this to happen to him. Sonny gets on my nerves, a lot, and his constant arguments w/his lovers (past and present) and mob rivals don’t always make sense to me. But, that’s who Sonny is. He’s a self-centered, egotistical, control freak w/all the power in PC. To see him reduced to becoming a barista is not my idea of a good use of talent.

And, I agree. Jason is my favorite character on the show, but I can’t stand the way he’s been acting towards Sonny. And he’s not going to be half as fun as Sonny to watch as a mob boss.

How can I sell my brand new high class Coffee/espresso Machine?

I won a very expensive coffee machine that’s MSRP $2400, and I’ll gladly sell for $1200 or even $1000.

I just have no experience with selling these kind of things, so please help me with advice on how to sell it. (I tried Craigslist already; no one answered)

(By the way, it’s a “Saeco Talea Touch Espresso Machine with Milk Island”)
Thank you very much for the helpful answers

Specialty coffee

Specialty coffee
What is the best brand of coffee?

Please don’t say Starbucks. They rock for specialty cups (ex: Caramel Machiatto, etc.) but I don’t like their regular brew.
What’s your favorite to brew at home?

I have worked at Starbucks for over a year now and even though I love the company I know that not everyone loves their brewed coffee. Sometimes people get the wrong impression because they only try one kind of our coffee and forget that we have at least 20 other kinds. My favorite Starbucks coffee is Verona, which is smooth and chocolatey. But, I’ve always liked a regular cup of coffee with cream and sugar from Dunkin Donuts. Can’t really beat that. I’ve never brewed it at home though. A good brew to try at home would be from Barnies’. They have really good flavored coffees. Some of my favorites from them are Santa’s White Christmas, Cool Cafe Blues, and Sweetheart Blend. When in doubt, get anything BUT Folgers or Maxwell House. Both of those are pretty disgusting. And if you can, get whole bean coffee and grind it shortly before you brew. It makes for a fresher tasting coffee.
